Chris Isaak Tour 2012

We almost didn’t write this post because we are not in the business of promoting records or CDs. As you can tell, we sell tickets. But We decided to post this anyway, not only because Chris is making a hand full of special appearances at some small venues this year and we might sell a ticket or two, but more so because Chris Isaak is one of our favorite entertainers. His artistic skills and his perfect voice for the music he sings allows him to walk with giants like Johnny Cash, Buddy Holly and even Elvis.

Chris and his band have made their mark by performing their own material with their own unique style and yet they can also do famous and even not so famous past hits without compromising their reputations and being called “copy cats.”

Chris’ current album “Beyond The Sun” is a tribute to greats like Johnny Cash, Elvis, Jerry Lee and others. Chris Isaak retains his own style and yet does these rock masterpieces with not only respect but reverence. 14 great songs, well done!

If you get a chance go see Chris Isaak live but if that is not possible there are still way to enjoy this great entertainer. Thank goodness for YouTube!

Here is a few for your enjoyment!

I know it isn’t very funny, especially to the NBA fans…

…but sometimes you just have to “laugh it off” just like your mother did!

Here we are… getting ready to cancel training camp (summer league toasted)  and should be preparing for the worst according to Prophet Barkley AND… someone has been given the legal name change of “Meta World Peace”!

I don’t know which is more unlikely… world peace or decent NBA season this year. My money is on world peace.

What are all these unemployed NBA players doing in their spare time… looking for work… that’s what! It cost a lot to maintain those mult-million $$$ estates and all those high end sports cars (your mother is not laughing any more)!

Just having some fun… here is some more… enjoy!

Another Fly in the Ointment – NBA Lockout 2011

We are now in the throws of the NBA lockout for 2011.

Up until now it has all been sorta-lockout lounging around since no one thought the actual season was at risk. But now it is a whole different animal. The owners, who claim they are losing money have taken the gloves off by actually filing a lawsuit (2 of them) against the players association. No one is willing to budge at the moment an the season is not all that far away (starts in October).

I am not one to take sides and I surely do not have all the facts (57/43 current revenue split in favor of players?) but I do know that it will be devastating to fans and will also cause a lot of collateral damage to many who rely on the industry to feed their families. Wouldn’t it be nice if the parties involved would just came to terms and saved the season.

O well… guess until then I will just stick to playing NBA 2K10!

How about a new game… NBA 2K11LockOutSucks where NBA players can vacation in China and 1 way tickets for owners! lol

Come on guys… at least attend some negotiation meets instead of standing each other up!

The Lockout is Over…

Yep it is finally over…

…the next NFL season is going to finally happen!

Although it seems longer, it has been a gruelling 4 1/2 months of suspended animation, the NFL’s first work stoppage in 24 years.

Players can now report to team facilities and training camps. All 32   training camps should be in full swing by the end of the week.

The 10 year deal is not perfect, but are they ever? There is still tons of work to do… “I want to get back to work” says Manning and that pretty much sums up everyones feelings on the matter.

Owners and Players found middle ground they could agree on and now are relentlessly apologizing to fans and wanting to get on with the season. Oh and did I mention that the season is now 18 games?

Now the chaos can begain… draft picks, signing free agents, training camps and of course the wild free agency period.

The 2011 season remains almost unscathed… only one exhibition game lost, the Hall of Fame opener between the Bears and Rams that was to be in August 7th. The rest of the preseason and regular season scheules remain intact.

The aggrement between Players and Owners has a few loose ends to tie up but there should be no problems and the final aggrement is binding through the 2020 season.

With all of this behind us we can now get back to the abnormal activities we as fans are good at… “where is the remote?”
